Celebrate Summer at Midsommarfest

When summer hits, everyone is ready for a good community street fair. Nowhere is this more true than in Andersonville, where one of Chicago’s best neighborhood festivals takes place: Midsommarfest! This exciting event takes place for a weekend in early June, just blocks from Anderson Point!

What is the Andersonville Midsommarfest?

This legendary street festival celebrates Andersonville’s Swedish heritage with live music, food, shopping, and interactive events and activities! Kids love the Pet Parade, facepainting and, new in 2023, rollerskating. Charming Swedish themed traditions abound, like dancing around the Maypole and abundance of Swedish food. Typically around 50,000 people attend the festivities!

Where is Andersonville Midsommarfest?

Just down the street from Anderson Point! It takes place on Clark between Foster and Gregory. You can pin the Swedish American Museum at 5211 N. Clark as the southernmost point of the festival.
